Abstract

Currently, there are many hypotheses of the pathogenesis and etiology of atherosclerosis, but splits into two main points of view: lipid infiltration and “the response to endothelial damage in which the inflammatory process occurs”, however it is still not clear based on what inflammation is maintained. This article describes a clinical case of detection of periodontopathicmarkers in the atherosclerotic plaque of a patient with a cardiovascular disease. It is assumed that the microbiomе of the oral cavity may result in chronic inflammation and atherosclerosis.
