The use of statins in the treatment of systemic scleroderma

Systemic scleroderma is a clinically heterogeneous, systemic disease with microvascular disorders, immune imbalance and enhanced collagen synthesis in tissues. This review focuses on statins' effects on various stages of systemic scleroderma pathogenesis. The presented clinical case illustrates the use of statins in treatment of the systemic scleroderma patient with the anamnesis of myocardial infarction and percutaneous coronary intervention.
