X Annual Conference Report National Society for the study of atherosclerosis

Abstract

On September 30, 2017, the X Annual Scientific and Practical Conference of the National Society for the Study of Atherosclerosis "Breakthrough in the fight against atherosclerosis" was held. The one-day conference was attended by about 300 people. The first report was made by the famous cardiologist from Holland Peter Lansberg, who demonstrated the main achievements in the field of combating atherosclerosis, as well as the problems in this question. Professor Lansberg sees the main problem in the gap between scientific achievements and real clinical practice, as well as the fact that the treatment of patients with diseases caused by atherosclerosis, as a rule, begins after clinical manifestation, which is unacceptable. In addition, there is practically no primary prevention, which is no less important than secondary prevention. Presentations were made by Russian cardiologists from various regions of the Russian Federation, who are leaders in the fight against atherosclerosis.
