Abstract

Aim. The study of subpopulations of lymphocytes and the concentration of cytokines in peripheral blood of patients at elderly and senile age with chronic diseases of the digestive system depending on the expression of atherosclerosis in the basin of the abdominal aorta was held.
Material and Methods. A clinical-immunological study of 210 elderly and senile patients with chronic diseases of the digestive system.
Results. It was found that patients with the atheroslerosis of unpaired visceral arteries had increased levels of T-cytotoxic CD3+HLA-DR+ lymphocytes and increased concentrations of interleukin 1 and tumor necrosis factor α.
Conclusion. ISeverity of changes in the immune status of patients at elderly and senile age with chronic diseases of the digestive system depends on the prevalence of atherosclerosis in the basin of the abdominal aorta.
